Chemistry (Ron Imhoff's Chemistry)

History     Satellite Radio (XM & Sirius) Airplay

In 1992 (around the same time I was writing and recording rock tunes for Garhoff), I accidentally hooked up some of my guitar effects boxes and got a really ethereal sounding guitar effect. I ran with this and ended up recording a tune that would soon thereafter be my initial song that received airplay on FM radio on a major station in Miami called WLVE (Love 94). Quite a feeling I have to tell you.

Over the years, I finally committed to investing in digital recording equipment after my spouse convinced me to go for it.

Recordings
I proceeded to write and record three CD's under the moniker "Chemistry". 3 CDs were released in 2000, 2004 and 2007. All recordings are available via http://www.kookiejar.com (released under Kookie Jar Records ) or via CD Baby, the Chemistry distributor (http://www.cdbaby.com)

Airplay Success
These CDs have all been commercially successful receiving airplay on digital cable TV, Satellite Radio (Sirius and XM) and FM stations.

  • The first Chemistry was on the New Age Voice Top 100 for 7 months and peaked at #13 without the assistance of any special promotion other than sending it to stations (no paid promotion or promo companies).
  • Eastern Influence (from the same record) was #1 for numerous weeks on the MusicChoice.com Soundscapes Digital Music Channel which is broadcast to millions of homes and business by cable and internet
  • Chemistry Wings of Sound continues to receive airplay to this day nearly 6 years after its release on Sirius and XM Satellite Radio and has been ranked on DogStar Radio charts. It was also featured on the XM site.
  • Chemistry "Heart of the Sun" is the 3rd Chemistry CD. A combination of smooth jazz and new age compositions recorded using pianos, guitars and synthesizers create a relaxing mood for the listener. Unlike previous Chemistry CD's, this recording also includes a lead piano performance on one track by pianist Armen Chakmakian. Additionally, the CD was mastered by John Polito of Audio Mechanics who engineers professional in Burbank California for movie studios and networks.
